Fairhope Farmers Market Opens This Thursday
The Fairhope Farmers Market kicks off its fall season this Thursday, September 10, from 2 to 6 p.m. behind the Fairhope Public Library. It’s an easy way to spend an afternoon downtown.
Local farmers and artisans will be set up with fresh produce, baked goods and handmade finds. Opening day also brings live music, family activities and the Cousins Maine Lobster food truck.
The market runs every Thursday through November 12. Once daylight saving time ends, it wraps up an hour earlier, at 5 p.m. There’s no market on October 29 because of the Witches Ride.
Here’s the lineup for the rest of the season:
September 17 and 24: Face painting and music by Stephen Sylvester.
October 1: Face painting and music by Stephen Sylvester.
October 8: Music by Stephen Sylvester.

We Remember: Remembrance Ceremony This Friday
This Friday, September 11, marks 25 years. The city is holding a short ceremony and prayer to remember those who were lost and to honor the heroes of that day.
The ceremony starts at 9 a.m. in front of the Fairhope Police Department at 107 N. Section Street, right in downtown. Visitors are welcome to join.
Alabama Coastal Cleanup Coming Up
The 39th Annual Alabama Coastal Cleanup takes place Saturday, September 19, starting at 8 a.m. The goal is to protect local waterways and the shoreline.
You can sign up on your own or bring a group. If you’re in town with family or friends, this is a meaningful way to spend a morning and give something back to the place you’re visiting.
