Movie in the Park: The Sandlot This Friday
Fairhope is marking America’s 250th with a summer movie night, and the pick is The Sandlot. It’s showing Friday, June 12, at Fairhopers Community Park, starting at 8 PM.
Bring picnic blankets or lawn chairs and settle in for a movie under the stars. Popcorn is free, and there’s a giveaway for the kids. It’s an easy family night out if you’re in town this weekend.
Fairhope Farmers Market on Thursdays
Local growers and artisans set up behind the Fairhope Public Library every Thursday from 2 to 6 PM. Coming up this month: June 11, June 18, and June 25.
You’ll find seasonal foods, local products, and fresh produce grown right here. If your rental has a kitchen, it’s a great place to stock up for the week.

Transcription Day at the Fairhope Museum of History
Here’s a hands-on way to dig into local history. As part of Red, White & 250 in Fairhope, the Fairhope Museum of History is hosting a transcribe-a-thon on Saturday, June 20, from 1 to 3 PM.
Volunteers get an up-close look at letters, notes, diaries, and documents from Fairhope’s founding years. You’ll help transcribe them for the first time so they can be put online for everyone to read.
Bring a laptop if you’d like to type, or use the paper and pencils provided. You’ll need to be able to read cursive, and if you’re writing by hand, your handwriting should be legible.
New Open Archives Exhibit Coming This Summer
The Fairhope Museum of History is swapping out the 3D exhibit on its second floor over the next few weeks. In its place is the Open Archives, a temporary display of some of the most interesting objects from Fairhope’s past.
Look for military uniforms, a Civil War artillery shell, early 20th-century medical equipment, a telegraph key, and “Fairhope’s first cell phone,” among other pieces. It opens this summer as part of the museum’s Red, White & 250 events.
If you’re planning a museum stop, it pairs well with other ideas on our things to do in Fairhope guide.
