Fairhope Farmers Market
The Fairhope Farmers Market happens twice monthly — first Saturdays from 8 AM to noon and every Thursday from 2-6 PM behind the public library. Local growers and artisans bring seasonal produce and handmade goods.
This Thursday, May 14th, catch the Cousins Maine Lobster Truck for a special treat. Perfect timing if you’re staying nearby and want to grab fresh ingredients or unique finds.
Mike Ford Tennis Center Family Challenge
Free family tennis fun happens Monday, May 11 at 5:30 PM. All ages welcome for this National Tennis Month celebration featuring games and activities for everyone.
No registration required — just show up ready to play. Great way to get the family active during your Fairhope visit.
Municipal Government Week
Governor Kay Ivey declared May 10-16 as Municipal Government Week across Alabama. It’s a chance to recognize the local teams who keep cities like Fairhope running smoothly — from public safety to parks and community events.
Worth appreciating the folks behind the scenes who maintain the beautiful downtown area and parks you’ll enjoy during your stay.
Public Works Appreciation Week
May 18-22 celebrates the hardworking crew who maintain Fairhope’s streets, parks, and infrastructure. These are the people setting up community events, fixing roads, and keeping everything looking pristine.
The city’s hosting an appreciation lunch for the team. Those well-maintained sidewalks and beautiful public spaces you’ll stroll during your visit? Thank these folks.
New Museum Exhibit Coming Soon
The Fairhope Museum of History is preparing their “Open Archives” exhibit as part of America250 celebrations. They’re swapping out the current 3D display for fascinating local artifacts — military uniforms, Civil War artillery shells, vintage medical equipment, and “Fairhope’s first cell phone.”
Perfect rainy day activity to dive into local history while you’re in town.
Hurricane Preparedness Expo
Meteorologist James Spann from Birmingham visits the Fairhope Civic Center on June 3rd for a free hurricane preparedness session. Doors open at 9 AM, presentation starts at 10 AM, followed by lunch.
Even if you’re just visiting, understanding Gulf Coast weather patterns and safety strategies is smart. May is Hurricane Preparedness Month, making this perfectly timed.
